God Loves to Talk to Those Who Believe Him

Yesterday morning I entered a twilight. I was in another place, and my body was pulled across the room and through a wall. As this was happening, Jesus spoke to my Spirit regarding prophecy, saying He would reveal to those who will believe what He says; to those He will give revelations.

“Jesus spoke to my Spirit regarding prophecy, saying He would reveal to those who will believe what He says; to those He will give revelations.”

I came to and I was in my bedroom. Lightning clouds lined the ceiling and I heard gentle rumblings of thunder. I was reminded of Elijah.

A Little Cloud

During the 3.5-year drought, when rainfall seemed impossible, Elijah heard the “sound of the rushing of rain” (1 Kings 18:41), and he declared this to King Ahab. Elijah instructed his servant to look towards the sea, and not until the seventh lookout did he see “a little cloud like a man’s hand” rising. Though so easily overlooked, Elijah immediately recognized what God was doing, and he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.’” Shortly thereafter, “the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain.” (1 Kings 18:45)

So often we don’t trust God to do the impossible, even when He’s given His word it will happen. When a childless and elderly Abram was told his offspring would be as numerous as the stars of the sky, Abram didn’t scoff at the impossible; instead, “he believed the LORD, and He counted it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis 15:6)

Luke 18:27 tells us, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”—Abram’s faith in the impossible pleased God, for “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).

Faith Requires Heart

We say we believe God for the impossible, yet our hearts expect nothing. Proverbs 23:7 tells us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” When our words and our heart are misaligned, we pray fruitless prayers, for James 1:6-8 tells us, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

This year, the LORD has shown me incredible things – “glory to glory” indeed. Many have been so grandeur in nature that on occasion my carnal mind would question their validity. As Romans 8:7 says, “the carnal mind is enmity against God”. Rather than water the seeds of doubt, “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” (2 Corinthians 10:5), consequentially becoming “transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

Captive Thoughts

As I continued to hold these thoughts captive and trusted what God was showing me, I began to see a continual increase in the supernatural, and as Elijah discerned the will of God in a seemingly inconsequential cloud, so is the Lord teaching me to identify and appreciate His innumerable daily messages – so easily overlooked – all the while discerning His will through them in alignment with His Word.

“As I continued to hold these thoughts captive and trusted what God was showing me, I began to see a continual increase in the supernatural”

As the words Jesus wrote on my heart yesterday morning attest to, I am assured He will continue to “reveal deep and hidden things” (Daniel 2:22) and “tell [me] great and unsearchable things that [I] do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3) as I believe Him at His word—it pleases Him to do so. Yesterday morning I went on to see, what I believe, was at least a dozen visions following this trance.

Simply Believe

When God speaks to us – and when we speak to God – let it pass through the sword of the Word, and if it aligns, let us simply believe. If a doubting thought enters, that is not double-mindedness. When you fail to take the doubting thought captive and believe it may come to pass, that is double-mindedness, and “you must not suppose you will receive anything”.

So many of us are living in the shadow of sonship, where the LORD Has called us as firestorms entrusted to carry His all-consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), walking in the greater things He modeled for us—if we simply believe (John 14:12).
